Ok, these postings got me thinking and I figured out what 's wrong. You musnt't talk to Wulbren to end the quest but to Barcus. He's also in the inn. (No idea how he got there without us knowing about it)
That Wulbren is really an insufferable pr*ck.
Yeah, that one's a bit weird. You have to go up to Barcus, tell him that you rescued Wulbren, so he comes out, is surprised to see Wulbren, and then asks who rescued him.
But then you can also see Alfira and Lakrissa sitting next to each other, before the cutscene of Lakrissa walking in and Alfira being shocked ;-)
