Whoever came up with the Illithid power passive of Charmed and thought that useless power would be good didn't think it through. After all once they attack a target they can't attack again until their next round anyway, And to force someone to select whether or not to Charm the person after an attack is just a waste of time and it dumb down Minthara who is a great Paladin companion except for the "Charmed" passive.
