Heh. The great outdoors. Looks beautiful but when you're stuck in the middle of a forest and starving I'd take the city anyday! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

These places would be fine if they just had a few more pubs. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/silly.gif" alt="" />

Wowie <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" /> Great pics all !!! I think Germany just went up 5 spots on the Must Visit Soon list <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/up.gif" alt="" />

Kyra, your pic reminds me of Twin Peaks <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> And a bit of the area around San Francisco.. Now I feel even more dumb for sticking to the big cities when I was there some years ago, missed the best parts of California apparently <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/disagree.gif" alt="" />

Anyway ! Went to Antwerp yesterday, came back with 100 Mb of pics <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

"Het Steen", steen means stone incidentally <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Started out as a fortress to secure De Schelde (a river) as a trading route, and so allowed the village/city of Antwerp to originate and grow around it. It was burned down in 836 with the Viking invasion, then rebuilt "possibly as early as the 11th century". It served as a guest house for important/rich people passing by Antwerp, until in the late middle ages it was used as a prison. Starting in 1850 it was used a museum, first of "General Old Stuff", currently as a museum of, er, ships or something.

Yep, memorizing tourist signs <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" />

@ rat => It's beautiful! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

San Francisco is a wonderful city here in California.
Lots of old culture there if you know where to look.

Other beautiful places in California are the areas in "Carmel" or "Sequoia National Park".

I love my State.
Its just to bad it's the most expensive State to live in here in America.

Look at the size of the tree compared to the cars.
Those are some really, really old trees. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
I can't believe some people want to cut them down. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/disagree.gif" alt="" />

That's a SMALL tree! Even our bushes is bigger than that! It's really foul to try to fool us with those fake cars made in minimum size <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/memad.gif" alt="" />!

Ehh... "Autumn" ! Lovely, I had completely forgotten about that word <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/up.gif" alt="" />

Autumn in Spa <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Beautiful autumn shot Rat. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> I'm using it as my desktop picture at the moment and it looks excellent. Hope you don't mind my pinching it....

A run of good photos from heaps of people in the last few days. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> I must see if I have anything suitably scenic from around here.

No problem Kris, quite the compliment <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> Let me know which resolution you want and I'll upload it, the original is 2048 x 1536 so no problem.

@Mea, that's very peculiar -- how did those end up there <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> Also, how big is that ? Tricky to get an idea of scale there <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Anyway, the top of the townhall + bit of the statue in front of it.

"Antwerp" in dutch is "Antwerpen", which sounds like Hand + Werpen, which means Hand + Throwing. Ergo <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

There's something strange about that statue...

And Lews, you're not 14 since you seem too old to be 14. You've done too much you speak too well, you seem too experienced to be 14. Before I got your age I thought you were roughly twice your age, to be honest. So, seriously, you can't be fourteen. It's as simple as that.

<span class='standouttext'>Spoiler : </span><span class='spoiler'> but you could look at the properties find the url and look it up yourself <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" /> </span>

Thanks for the very kind offer Rat. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

But the one that I downloaded from the original link was already fine for the job (263k jpeg). It fills the screen without needing to be streched and looks beautiful. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/up.gif" alt="" /> Thanks again - great shot. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Edit
(left Corner, left, <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ouch.gif" alt="" /> )
