I was playing DOS2 for years. Stopped playing for a bit and then my partner wanted to try multiplayer. As my partner has the same computer, we figured yay no hassles on getting a program to run.
Short version. No longer runs. See either a Larian logo, frozen and blurred or the modified mouse cursor and a black screen and then crash to desktop. This takes anywhere from a fraction to about 2 seconds.
I found my v 3.0XXX install from 10/2023. Guess what? It runs. Not as stable as it used to be, but it runs. As for the current version? 3.6.117... (as of 2024-August-20). Run from launcher.
CTD. Run classic exe. CTD. Run definitive exe. CTD. Rename and delete the user folder. CTD.
What 'update' from last year till now disabled the game? A script extender? A stealth Msoft update? As the debugging tool doesn't engage and record an error nor do I get some kind of exception code I am sorry but I do not have have an error message to work with.
And yes already used the support tool. Doesn't work either. Collects all data (dxdiag, feedback, etc.) and then fail on sending.
