I don't want to use that mod while doing my honour mode run, since a mod corrupted my last HM try (and I was in act 3 then), but I will use that after (maybe when patch 7 and mod support is out.

I don't think, I posted my dwarven sorceress Ada here:

I was loving my grumpy, drunken dwarven monk/cleric of Ilmater Dreogan Strongale until he died horribly (in honour mode) due to my incompetence in the spider queen's lair. Trying again with a slightly reimagined look and a bit more success but still in Act 1:

My halfling jack-of-all-trades / Oghma worshipper Sophy was great fun to play at least until nearer the end when it all got quite grim:

Those are the only two shorter race runs I've started in the full release, but I'm looking forward to playing out the full story for two of my favourite EA characters:

Fierce, goblin-hating Wildheart barbarian, Hedda Bloodaxe:

And sneaky, curious deep gnome arcane trickster, Gilly:

And yes, I also wish there were at least one or two shorter race companions (and potential romantic interests, either companions or NPCs). And agree that Barcus Wroot is a fantastic character who would have made a great companion, and it wouldn't even have needed much of a tweak to his story. The Ironhand gnomes as a whole are an interesting group (I'll admit to a soft spot for Philomeen, she's just so unapologetically ... mean!).

And yes Hope is wonderful too, and made a big impact on me despite her relatively late and small role.

Roah as a baddie with a different sort of motivation than the others really works for me, despite the role feeling a bit peripheral.

And I think BG's portrayal of the goblins is a triumph, especially Sazza and Priestess Gut. (I'd have liked to see one or two goblins wandering the streets in Baldur's Gate, too.)

Yes, it did seem quite fitting biggrin

And given I have no confidence I'll be able to complete an honour mode run, I'm sure he'll get to die in new and painful ways as I try again. (Though have managed to finish off the spider queen this time.)

Red Queen: I love your characters, especially the halfling Jack of all Trades and the deep gnome lady.

Contributing with a gallery of my shorties:

Bolo, the life cleric. He might smell funky and the jury is out on whether he is undead or not. But he's kind and caring and the best support healer you will ever have in your party. His HM save got corrupted but the party synergy he had going would have wiped the floor with everything so I am counting it as a win, and in my own headcanon post-game story Karlach and Wyll end up as a couple and he goes with them to Avernus to help fix her engine.

Livvy, the wild magic sorceress. Absolute bonkers and a source of chaos wherever she goes. No idea how to channel or control magic, she just wiggles the weave and sees what comes out. Hates authority, so the Absolute cult and all other villains are in for a rough time.

[Linked Image from i.postimg.cc]

Miscka, the sorcerer/rogue. As shown in another thread. A disciplined spell commando who sniped her way through honor mode with cantrips.

[Linked Image from i.postimg.cc]

Shamil, wild magic barbarian. They were enjoying a peaceful life running a candleshop in Baldur's Gate when that Nauthiloid destroyed their shop, kidnapped them and infected them with a tadpole and also took their husband who didn't survive the crash (he was a useless and lazy drunk, but he was their useless and lazy drunk!). So now they are pissed and taking out their rage on every damn mindflayer and anyone involved with them.

[Linked Image from i.postimg.cc]

Thally, ranger/warlock durge. A brave tracker who is resisting his dark urges. Romancing Astarion because we all know he secretely wants a little gnome boyfriend.

She's going to need all the Mods!

Everyone in Mask black!

Well except for Alfira, sadly. We tried, but she didn't have a clothing set that could be dyed.

Otherwise though, a pretty solid crew! We'll see how many times I have to reload as more mods getting added into the mix hehe

You know what? Barcus should have been a companion and I die on that hill. I like that little guy more than most of my actual companions and go out of my way to make sure, he reaches BG save and sound. He has such a great personality, his voice actor is one of the best in the game and he has a very interesting questline, that I wish, we could have explored more.

I remade my gnome artificer for patch 7. I had to get creative with the gear to make her look steampunky, since a lot of the very steampunky clothing mods are only for the elf/human types, but I think, she looks pretty dope. The camp clothing on the other hand is just for female gnomes - there is an armor too, but it looks more fitting for a gnome druid than an artificer

Btw, in case someone liked the Gothyanki gear: the author made it available for male shorties and it looks great on gnomes especially.

I had a really interesting experience with BG3 recently. Last time I played a halfling in tabletop D&D, it was purely mechanical ("he's small so that he can ride a wolf"). Seeing them in game got me thinking about how it would feel to be so much smaller than the people around you - and BG3's halflings are closer to 4' tall compared to D&D's around 3' halflings.

So I thought I'd try out the set of mods to enable a first-person perspective. Partly to try this for my new playthrough, but I also decided to go back to one of my old saves and see the world through the eyes of a halfling. Of course, I was expecting an intimidating world full of people twice my size. But that's not what I felt. I basically walked from the Steel Watch foundry to the gate to Wyrm's Crossing, and I noticed for the first time just how many other halflings and gnomes there are. And, what's more, my brain registered them as the main people of the city, with the humans sort of fading into the background. I knew they were there, and I could choose to interact with them if I wanted to, but as long as there were other halflings in the area I found my self sort of not noticing the humans unless there was something notable about them. It always felt right interacting with the gnomes eye to eye, but I wasn't expecting that. I'm not sure how well it comes across in screenshots, but let's see.

Then I went into the Elfsong, and everything changed. I'm not sure if it's the confined space, or the fact that there aren't any halflings in there, but I felt totally out of place. First thing, as soon as I walked in the door, the half-orc bouncer came striding straight towards the door at speed as though I wasn't there, and I felt like I'd have barely a second to jump out of her way. Then I saw people sitting at tables, still much taller than me. And as I approached the bar, I'm surrounded by giants against whom I barely come up to their waists. This is where being short started to feel intimidating.

I'm mainly playing my new dwarf durge character (speaking of which, it's harder to get the feeling of being short but bulky and strong, than the idea of being short and having strength as your dump stat), but I'll probably come back to this one when I need a break from all the murdering, and re-play act 3 while dating Wyll, which she failed to do the first time around. It'll be interesting to see how different environments feel from that point of view.

That is interesting. I saw luality play with the first person mod.

I'm still playing my shorties, but am taking it a bit more slowly.

Someone made my favourite armor (Umas armor in act 3) for halflings and dwarves (gnomes too, but without the skirt) - and I think my halfling bard looks great with it.

I'll be honest, I'm not fond of the short races at all. Maybe it's because I'm short IRL or maybe it's just because they walk funny in game, I don't know. All of my characters are tall except for one.

Meet Gary Tarnbadd, a lightfoot halfling barbarian who was born with insane strength, leading him to become the hero of his small village. He comes from many generations of poor, weak farmers so when his father realized the potential his son had, he made sure Gary didn't waste it.

This guy was actually a guardian I made for another character but he was just too adorable, I had to make him into one of my OCs.

I love that the short races, githyanki and dragonborn are different. And halflings and gnomes were always favourites of mine. In Guild Wars 2 I like to play Asura and I love, that they are taken seriously. The Asura are the most technically advanced race there.
I have nothing against any of the other races, I play most of them myself in our DnD groups and in BG3, if they are available, but I have a soft spot for the shorties.

Btw: love your halfling.
