The KO option was very likely already partially implemented before patch 5, because before that, there existed a mod that allowed you to recruit Minthara in that way. (Knock her KO in the goblin camp and retrieve her in Moonrise) so all these paths were already there, even though not complete. I used that mod, but it messed up the chronology of Minthara's converstations, so became irritating after you had recruited her.
(The mod was called "daughter of Lolth". Became obsolete with patch 5.
