Having them come to you in the camp would make a lot of sense and should be pretty easy to implement: they already just start certain scenes automatically if they happen while you're adventuring, or the scenes that start when you go to bed. Perhaps they worry that it's taking player agency away to auto-start scenes at camp? This can of course be avoided by starting with "Can I have a word with you?" and giving the player the option to say yes or no.
Some of the other suggestions are perhaps more complicated, but would be nice if they could happen.
