Larian Studios Forums Baldur's Gate III Baldur's Gate III - General POLL: What origins have you played in the full release?

So far I've only played Tav, maybe I'll try Shadowheart. I'll probably play Lae'zel first, then maybe Shadowheart.

I'm currently in a PT with Karlach origin, whom I adored as a companion. Halfway act 2, and I find it quite .... disappointing. Karlach as a companion is so much more immersive. I 'm just drifting away from her. I have some custom-made hirelings in the party and I feel more attached to them, even though they have no specific dialogues. I guess I'm a custom-Tav player.

I made it to the start of Act 3, but I'm giving up on the Karlach run. I feel much more distant from this character playing her, than when I have her as company . I think the final straw was The circus of the last days. As a companion she gets all excited and is eager as a child to go see the circus. Now, nothing. I do want to completge a patgch 7 run, but it will be a Tav custom player again, with Karlach beside me.

Of course it's different, you don't hear the character anymore and I assume the personal quests work differently then? (I've only played Tav so far).

I’ve played a custom tav, dragonborn, and dark urge, but modified to be a wood elf. Currently I’m playing a Lae’zel origin run in tactician (the others were easy and normal), but that’s not yet finished, so I didn’t select it.

I have WAY too many OCs (custom Tavs) to play any of the origin characters - aside from Durge. I would like to at some point but I worry the story won't be changed that much by doing so lol
