Missing Xmal file after update. "No xmal file found in root nor any mod". Steam game with 500+ hours of game play. No mods. Game goes through first load screen then above message shows up with an OK button field. Choosing OK dialogue field goes away and screen just shows an overview picture. Have to end task from there.

an Xml file is text like notepad but there isn't any such thing as an Xmal as far as i'm aware

Then why is this dialog showing up?

I forgot that I do have some mods. Deleted app local data Larian, Steam game, disabled Cloud Services, BG3 mod manager and reinstalled. My save game backups rely on past mods so, I am left with starting a new game only. As this game is not an open world game i have always felt like I am being herded through my game play with many decisions along the way. I am going back to my go to game Elder Scrolls Skyrim SE. Thanks to Larian for breaking my game. It was not the game for me.
