What do you expect? The Companions to dump to psycho? As any sane - even if Evul! - person would? Imagine the screams of players who have to play with Hirelings only.
OP was talking about redemption Durge though, not evil Durge. Though there could be a case made for that too. Sitting in the same boat and all that. Under normal conditions I can see no reason to put up with a vampire, a walking bomb or a racist space alien., or a Sharran, given that they are probably the most feared religious group outside of maybe Bhaalists.
