I also don't know where this moral judgment comes from that says evil=bad ending. For me, AA is a happy vampire who now has everything he wanted. For me it has a happy ending with my evil Durgie. I'm very happy how the game experience is for me. And no, I personally don't want to see Astarion or any other companion in the role of the violent "badword".
