Scratch is a beloved doggo and I know he has many voice lines for fetching his ball. But I just had an incident inside the camp where Scratch ended up permanently dying (from Castigated By Divinity). When talking to the companions afterwards none of them had a single thing to say about it. I know in character many of the companions would be devastated at having him die similar to how Yenna dies to Orin and everyone has something to say. I know it's niche and hard to have happen but it would be nice to have some voice lines for when it does happen. Or better yet a grave for him inside the camp he died in. Just a request but it would be awesome if that could be added.

There is heartbreaking reaction - especially Minthara, she was surprising for me. I watched in on youtube - Scratch dying would be an instant game over for me (personal HM)

Too bleak!!!

Proposed solution - Withers does a special resurrection for no cost in GP

Then we get a rainbow animation and Scatch returns from the Beastlands to fight for the Realms! Cause of course

I suggest a sweeping musical theme when this occurs, something similar to the Prince of Thieves intro sequence towards the end - like that sort of crescendo! With the strings and the brass and the bells and such

I want to feel it like that hehe

Still holding out hope for the Scratch Origin!

This has brought the trauma of my first playthrough flooding back ... okay, that's putting it too strongly but I did watch in helpless horror as my party murdered Scratch who, I think, had taken umbrage at my robbing of the Idol of Silvanus and turned hostile. Thank goodness that particular bug was fixed (or at least I think it has been, though haven't stolen the idol in subsequent playthroughs). I've just tortured myself by reloading the save I have that's soonest after it happened, and unfortunately I think everything went horribly wrong even before Scratch had given me the ball.

When Scratch dies, you have to reload. We don't make the rules,we just live by them.

That was the hardest test of my no-reload policy in my first playthrough. Well apart from Isobel dying in the Last Light Inn but that one became moot as so did the rest of my party not long after so I had to have another shot and that fortunately went better! But, at the risk of making myself sound like Galadriel, I passed smile Or possibly I just proved that my heart is too cold and I failed eek

I was messing around with God-Gale's spells at the party and turned Volo into a tressym. Scratch got aggressive and the whole camp turned on our beloved dog. XD

Oh no! For me that helplessness was almost the worst of it: my character tried to run away but couldn't escape the camp with a battle going on, and I couldn't bring myself to have any of my controlled party attack Scratch, so I think it was Lae'zel and Wyll who weren't in the party that did the deed. I could just hear Lae'zel declaiming that she'd put down the rabid mutt, while my character screamed at her to stop and that he was just excited and didn't mean to bite.

(Not that the whole horrible episode is seared on my psyche, or anything cry)
