Is this the ring that gives you an automatic critical once per long rest?
It's been a few patches since I used this ring, but I recall the prompt showing up even after it had been used. Have you tried using it on a different character?
Looking up the description, it doesn't look like you should have a toggle for if it's used, are you sure it didn't trigger without you noticing?
