Companions only get themselves fully involved if an encounter/location is directly tied to their personal quest, otherwise they'll just randomly comment during scenes where something notable is happening. Outside of that all companions have constant reactions and at times unique dialogue branches when something notable is happening, but the player has to interact with the companion in order to hear their thoughts about it.
- Shadowheart has plenty of reactions and comments throughout the Mountain Pass and Crèche Y'llek, but the player has to interact with her to hear her thoughts.
- In the Shadowlands (ACT II) she has tons of reactions and commentary if the player interacts with her every now and again, along with several dialogue branches unique to her. Not to mention scenes in which she'll always be prioritized to react to things (like being blessed by Isobel).
- She has a unique dialogue if you click on her once you get to the Mountain Pass, where she talks about the Prism and her mission.
- She has thoughts about the Monastery.
- She has thoughts once she's within Crèche Y'llek.
- She has thoughts after the zaith'isk is used.
- She has thoughts after meeting Vlaakith.
- She has thoughts after Lae'zel is betrayed by Vlaakith.
- She has thoughts after getting out of Crèche Y'llek.
- She has thoughts if the player destroys the entirety of Crèche Y'llek.
- She has thoughts about Lae'zel's choice regarding Kith'rak Voss.
Just like any companion she has tons of reactions and commentary, but if the player is not clicking on her whenever something notable happens then they'll miss 99% of what she has to say as that is where most companion reactions are. Once she gets to a location directly tied to her personal quest she will completely steal the spotlight, as companions normally do if it directly involves them.
