I had Shadowheart react the first time too, but in a slightly different way for some reason, I can't remember the exact words, but she was more worried about Tav, like “Get the knife away from her!”, but unfortunately it was long enough ago to remember the exact line. Afterwards, I was already specifically going to Astarion first, and we were happily playing “put me on the ground, charming” without anyone else's eyes. Interestingly, if you refuse to help him, the knife scene happens automatically when you agree, you have to fail the perception check or you'll notice the dagger, the second time I had to reload five times to fail that unfortunate perception, lol. Note, Astarion liked your neck at first sight. (“lovely neck of yours”), and such a beautiful velvet intonation in “Now, I saw you on the ship, didn't I?” Lae'zel's flirting, funny. She's probably the hardest to get before Astarion, Shadowheart is the closest, and Gale is around there too.


The standard ones aren't all good either - option 1, the only one playable (lead an army). In the second option (the statue) you can see Astarion kneeling with all the other companions - it's horrible. The third option (Myrkul's “mercy”) - Tav kills everyone, including Astarion, Tav in this case is just as crazy insane, and it's unclear for what purpose everything even existed up to this point (and the same Tav clearly would have been better off not being born), as in the case of the Dark Urge. With the fourth option (the massacre) everything is somehow unclear, I even went through it once myself out of curiosity, Astarion is nowhere to be seen at all. I don't like unclear things, especially since the option to lead the Absolute army for its own ends seems much more logical and meaningful to me. But also in a standard ending they could just make a figurine of your beloved person standing by while you subdue the future soldiers of your army, why not? After all, it's all being done for him, lol. It would be awesome if a mod could add Astarion hovering nearby. And a line before the kiss, like, “I will get you the orb of a god, my love, and your power will know no equal”. You could have just kissed Astarion after that, and the meaning of that evil ending would have taken on new colors.


Uh-oh, maybe Dark Urge should get drunk on wine beforehand to make the drug more fun. Or meditate to relax and get as calm as possible.
