I would like to also add another Minthara bug I and at least two other people have documented on various forums. At various points in Act 2, Minthara will not be included in dialogue similar to a hireling. This prevents any banter or approval/disapproval from accruing. For me, it occurred when I entered Shar's Temple. I noticed it when I got to Balthazar. I did some testing, confirmed it happens even before triggering any scenes with Balthazar in Shar's Temple (I reloaded and talked to the rats outside his area). I reloaded further back to before entering Shar's Temple and it works. I've tried many things to get it work including:
-Hiring a hireling, dismissing them to the Fugue, fast traveled to Act I then Act II, and added Minthara back to the party.
-Had Minthara die by jumping off a cliff and also having a party member kill them. I had my character and Withers resurrect her.
-I removed everyone from my party except Minthara but that didn't change anything. Party composition doesn't seem to matter.
-Changed the order of party members so she was second, third, and fourth but no difference.

I fast traveled to Moonrise Tower and talked to Linsella and Minthara interacted even though they and none of the other party members showed as part of the conversation. Weird. I went back to Balthazar and still no interaction from Minthara.

Adding my support here. Playing a good TAV, saved Minthara in act 2. After her throne speech, she initiated relationship dialogue, then.....nothing after that. She is a very compelling character, but her development feels unfinished.

The more I'm wondering if she was ever supposed to be ACTUALLY recruitable,or just a major NPC that you could interact with akin to OG Halsin.

The fact you already need to basically break the game over it's head on the good route,and somehow justify her on the evil route given your NOT with the absolute,makes it seem like she's just a tacked on addition they refused to make better.

I'm doing a max-approval run and have hit the Minthara non-approval bug.

Initially, she accrued approval as per the various guides, but after respec'ing and adventuring (no rest yet), she's not accruing approval.

I note she's dragging Ceres into every combat. Bugs seem to collect it seems.

I'll try resting and see how it goes, but I've already lost the Last Light approvals before I noticed. Frustrating.

[Edit] I now believe the approval guide I was referencing is inaccurate. Other posts online do not corroborate Minthara getting approval increases at Last Light Inn or at Moon Lantern ambush site. Looks like she only accrues approval with Thorm leaders and maybe in the Guantlet. Post Ketheric and Act 3, she accumulates approval normally.

I have the bug where im trying to talk to minthara in moonrise after telling her to wait there and now i cant talk to her in my honor mode run.

Same. It’s highly frustrating.

I think I might have a bug with Minthara (not sure if this is the right thread to ask about this)

For this play through I'm playing Dark Urge in Honour Mode (first time playing as Dark Urge).

I knocked out Minthara at the end of big battle at the grove (with fight with the unique sword spiders) and left her there knocked out.

I did a previous run through and knocked out in the same place (non Dark Urge run)

Arrived a Moonrise Towers and after visiting the vendors, I went to the "throne room" expecting to see the cut scene with Minthara ... but no ... it was a cut scene with Goblins only !

Checked downstair in the prison - no sign of Minthara - went back to Emerald Grove "environs" no sign of Minthara where I had left her ... then back to the Goblin camp .. no luck

If I try to long rest I get a message to the effect that Minthara is at Moonrise towers prison and this is my last chance to save her

The game seems to think she is at Moonrise (in the prison) but .. that cutscene didn't trigger ..

Any thoughts - its honour mode ?

Knocking her out at the Grove, even if she's temporarily hostile during the raid will not allow you to recruit her later, whether that is a bug I don't know in which way. ( whether she should be dead or available)

In essence, the "good" way to recruit Minthara is to knock her out at the Goblin Camp while she is temporarily hostile, and then make sure you don't long rest until you complete the related quest, not later.

Is how the non-lethal works mechanically, not only for Minthara but throughout the whole game. If the NPC isn't temporary hostile, the game considers them dead if you knock them out.

Thanks Xenonian, but I don't think that's the case.

I did a non Durge run through prior to this one. Same approach I knocked Minthara out at the end of raid and she turned up in the cut scene in the throne room at Moonrise, and was recruitable after getting her out with a potion of invisibility. After entering Act 2. I took ages before I went to Moonrise on that run through so that I could maximise exploration XP

So you can recruit her after the raid - but apparently not this run through (so far) - must have done something different this time around

I have cleared the prison guards (got the prisoners out) will push through Shar Temple and then if all goes well I will clear as much of Moonrise as possible (no Harpers) then take a long rest and see what happens

NIce to hear, is not impossible to recruit her like that its just so much more complex to avoid having it bugged out seeing as how scuffed the knock out mechanic works, glad it worked out for you and hopefully you will get it done in one go, there is also a high chance she might bug out if you ask her to wait during rescue attempt if you get it to work.


I'm still waiting to see some dark urge related oversights to be fixed related to Minthara in Act 2, related to a certain dream if you know what I mean, is in spoilers for anyone curios to know what I mean.
