So Larian you give us the option to kill Astarion in camp after he wakes you when trying to feed on you. If you have not met Gandrel at this point and meet him later he refuses to believe he's been dealt with, EVEN when I have his corpse in my inventory. Yeah I carried his corpse just to see if there was any change in the dialogue, nope Gandrel acts as if I must be mistaken even if I can stick the irrefutable proof in his face.

Did you all think we wouldn't kill the vampire amongst us?

Or was this just lazy writing?

A simple bit of dialogue with Gandrel would solve this huge plot hole, produce Astarion's body get a small reward kind of thing. Tie's off the plot hole you left for us mean people who kill Astarion when he tries to feed on us.

Astarion fans in 3...2...1...

But seriously, if you don't like that he drinks from you, you can just say No? And if he drinks from you and kills you accidentally, you can even hit him the next day.

I agree with the poster above: that is not the biggest oversight tbh.

I don't know, how people can hate a fictional character so much, they feel the need to tell everyone how they kill them every time. And then want a pat on the head.

Folks, this feels like a bit of an extreme reaction to the OP’s suggestion. Admittedly, the original suggestion itself seemed somewhat hyperbolic, but I’m not sure it warranted the response it got.

Gandrel is just a decoration NPC in Act I. He doesn't even have a reaction to Auntie's demise...

It's definitely a hole. In some of my playthroughs, my character kills Astarion for different reasons and the Gandrel thing is immersion-breaking. I also agree it's not the biggest issue but it is a discussion forum after all.
