We have updated the forum rules to provide some more clarity to the way our moderation team works with reports, to make some Community Safety rules more clear, and update rules regarding conversations around certain topics.
Moderation on The Forums
While we are fortunate to have an active moderator team that helps to keep the forums safe, our volunteers and Community Team are unable to continuously monitor ongoing discussions or mediate public debates. To give you some insight into how we review the forums, if behaviour is reported directly, we take action based on whether the behaviour reported breaks our forum rules.
After receiveing a report, our moderation team will review the post and take appropriate action. This usually takes the form of a three-strike warning system. If you are warned, you will receive a DM with the reason you are receiving the warning for. A second warning will result in a 24h ban, and a 3rd warning usually results on a permanent ban. Warnings might expire after some time if the user's behaviour has improved and no rules have been broken.
Please note: Moderation is handled privately, and there are no public announcements when moderation action has been taken.
Forum Rules Update
Due to several recent threads that have escalated into rule-breaking and displayed the inability to follow our moderation team's requests, additional levels of moderation have been introduced.
For the timebeing, the Moderator Team have been asked to close any new discussions or debates involving Astarion's character ending (Ascension vs. Non-Ascension). This measure will be re-evaluated at a later date. Discussing the character and the general narratives surrounding him is acceptable as long as the discussion remains civil and respectful of all forum members.
Archiving Locked Posts
To support a safer environment, we will now be archiving inappropriate threads that previously would have been locked but were still accessible.
