Larian Studios Forums Baldur's Gate III Baldur's Gate III - Technical & Gameplay Problems BG3 Graphics Failure

When I enter the game it shows the above and the lines are moving rapidly (even in the gameplay seems like the textures and lights are either black and glowing), every other game I am playing is fine only bg3 is doing this.
I have done everyhing on the guide, I even formatted my computer and reinstalled from scratch the game.
No Mods
Run a bunch of benchmarks on my GPU (Laptop 3080 16gb) nothing wrong found.
Also Vulkan, same issue sometimes or it just doesn't start.
I'm at the end of my rope, I installed it on a mac M3 and it was working fine so I don't know what I'm doing wrong anymore. My Laptop seems okay, the benchmarks return that the graphics card is fine.

I figured out that if I disable the iris xe graphics the game doesn't have those issues, but it is also slow, which means that baldurs gate 3 doesn't use my dedicated gpu

Any advice?

Hi Darthinvader, I have similar problems now.
After installing the 7. patch, I didn't play the game for a while. Yesterday I wanted to create a new character and I remarked some massive graphic failures which I never had before (after 500 hours of playing the game).
F.e. when I tried to use the dice checks to investigate the pool at the beginning, the dice field is almost black and unklickable.
Or when I trie to change the graphic resolution, then a black window appears regularly and I cannot interact with it. So it's not possbile to change the resolutions now.
I de- and reinstalled the game and also updated my latest graphic drivers.
Graphic Card is NVIDIA GEforce GTX 1060 6GB.

Any advices here for me? I really need help with that cause for now. The game is unplayable! I don't know how I can attach screenshots unfortunately.

If your device selects the wrong graphics card, try deactivating the weak graphics card in the device manager. Your PC/laptop should then be forced to use the better graphics card.
