Shadar Kai are cold and indifferent as they collect mementos for the Raven Queen. "He who was" has escaped the influence of the Raven Queen through the shadow curse and is now torturing the dead souls for his own pleasure. As a Shadar Kai, it doesn't matter whether he was a Drow at some point.
