Normally, I only play on honour mode. Never tried explorer mode until recently. I was a little bored, so I started up the game and chose explorer to see how it was.
So different. More hit points for your characters, less for the enemies. It's an outright power fantasy.
If you want to pretend your character is as good as the protagonist of a novel, someone like Drizzt, try playing on explorer mode. My basic gloomstalker build is wrecking house... no sharpshooter, no great weapon, no cheese, nothing. Just a basic build slicing through the ranks.
