Decided to try out the toolkit, and created my first mod and run into some issues. I have some experience with modding in other games but not in this one. Before I continue modifying the file further I wanted to make sure I have everything setup correctly.

I have the toolkit installed and attached to the data directory, and when I made and exported the mod I used the bg3 mod manager to test it in the game. Are there any additional steps I should be doing to get the two working together properly, or should this be enough?

(The mod itself is a new player race that's just a clone of the half-drow but with full drowelf tag. The issue is that while it shows up in the CC, it has no additional faces to select for each body, only the first default one, and the tags didn't change either.)

If you are just looking to use it on the external mod manager- then no. You would just publish local and then
drop the PAK into your mod manager. You can always unPAKK another mod similar to yours to compare and
make sure everything is in the correct place!

I'll look around for something similar to compare then, thank you!

edit:

Made it work (mostly) the way I wanted, if anyone else needs the info as well what I needed was:
CharacterCreationAppearanceVisuals: copied from the race you're basing it on, for the missing appearance data
CharacterCreationPresets: copy the RootTemplate from the race you need the tags of, I haven't figured out how to do it differently since the root seems to override it.
