We’re shipping a console-only hotfix in the near future that aims to prevent instability, reduced performance, and crashes when playing with more than 100 mods on console.

While we recommend only installing the mods you know you’ll continue playing with; to maximise stability, this hotfix will limit the amount of mods you can have enabled on console. In the meantime, we recommend not enabling more than 100 mods on console to avoid running into any issues.

We will be sharing more information with you very soon!

Have more than 100 mods installed on console?
This upcoming console hotfix will temporarily render saves with more than 100 mods unplayable, while we prepare to ship a follow-up fix that will give you access to your saves after uninstalling some existing mods. Saves without 100+ mods installed will remain unaffected!

Hi, is it possible to know when console mods will receive the updates already released for PC? There are currently many mods on consoles that have never received updates for more than 60 days.

The team is working on testing these updates and they will also gradually start going live. Unfortunately, any updates to mods need to be tested following the same process as any aspect of the mod could have been changed, so the time it takes might vary from mod to mod!

So, to understand this: A few players had more than 100 mods active on console (the question of *how* that was even achievable without the mods contradicting each other, and without the console itself burning up in the attempt still remains), and fixing that was prioritized over delivering new mods? Okay. Cool.

Although I have a very specific request to stop giving the nod to so many dice mods instead of focusing on things that *actually* affect gameplay: Species/Class/Subclass, and at most, character aesthetic mods. Specifically I'm waiting on a Shadar-Kai mod (the only one on mods.io) and a Swashbuckler Rogue mod to get the nod before even bothering starting another playthrough.

Well, sometimes I'm thinking that if Larian hadn't supported Modding on consoles, maybe they wouldn't have been on the receiving end of so much criticism and complaints. They really did a thankless job.

Yes, but first prioritizing what seems like an overabundance of dice mods, and then pandering to people who crashed their games by using an inordinate (nigh on obnoxious) number of mods with their Hotfix instead of ignoring those people for later and advising them for the time being that a number that high is not sustainable, and instead focusing on testing and supporting a diverse array of mods to be released for everyone else who plays more reasonably makes far more sense.

The mods are still being tested in the interim, they are just not being published. In addition, this hotfix will render console saves
potentially unplayable if they have more than 100 mods, so releasing new console mods in the interim would defeat the purpose
of trying to avoid that.

Either way, Larian is doing the best they can.

Yeah, agreed. I believe that Larian has their own principles in defining priorities, which may not necessarily align with the expectations of players. Maybe they could provide some explanations regarding the priority of MOD checks and the expected time required.

There isn't a specific turnaround time for this process, and they aren't able to share any additional information outside of what we have been told.

Mod Authors can let Larian know if they’d like to see their mod available on console and Mac after uploading their mod with the BG3 Toolkit. The Community Team
will then check whether the mod adheres to our modding guidelines, before sending over batches of mods to undergo internal checks that look at the mod’s basic
functionality, usability, and stability.

Technical limitations on certain platforms mean that some PC mods will not be available for Mac or console.

If all looks good after the testing, the mods will then be made available on these platforms!

The mod that I am interested in being on console and why I want this problem to be fixed is the mod to be able to go up to level 260 to feel like a god in the game. I hope it gets resolved soon
