The heart wants what it wants! Getting between the gal and her dog is probably a bad plan lol
I'm partial to this interaction honestly, not least because it's like the only Bark interjection we got going on in camp.
At camp everyone is just chilling, and so idle banter probably makes sense there. I mean as opposed to when we're out on the road, where everyone is all winded from hiking uphill. The companion interjections that occur while traveling around are easy to miss and often hard to hear, especially since proximity to the camera/currently selected character determines the volume. Frequently the Banters will activate over-the-shoulder, when the camera is focused on another character, and we probably turn around just in time to see the floating text disappear before we can read it.
In my Head Kanon, the rivalry between Lae'zel and Shadowheart probably extends to Scratch as well. Like where I could easily imagine them both vying for his approval, even though there's no meter for that one. For Lae'zel I imagine that everyone else is probably just an ishtik, but through his loyalty and constancy, she really comes to respect Scratches contribution. Even if he sometimes fetches random bombs or sussur flowers at super inopportune moments hehe.
For Shadowheart I picture a whole subtext to the Scratch relationship stemming from her fear of Wolves.
I thought a cool interaction for that might have been something like, when Shadowheart encounters a Wolf and is struck by fear, Scratch comes over to protect her from the wolf. Like he does a "back off" bark, and then suddenly it's the big bad wolf who's afraid! I like that, even if I have to pretend that banter into existence.
I don't know, I guess we can't win em all. I'm totally on team Scratch for this one!
I think it's just cause it's new, like they probably didn't get the timing fully sorted. Most of the other Character interjections don't repeat, but I let it slide in this case, because it exactly mirrors the way I'd roll. Of course I'm going to pet the dog twice back to back, every single time. It's just in my nature I suppose.
