Just being direct, I don't get (actually never did) the general lack of intimacy from Gale as a romance partner. I know he's a stuffy, bookish wizard, but there's a pronounced formality and standoffishness to that relationship that makes it less immersive than it could/should be, all things considered. I grow weary of "nothing would give me greater pleasure" to every request to talk about the relationship. it's jarring and doesn't mesh well with the rest of the conversation. But that is almost a miniscule gripe when compared to his reaction to durge resist being murdered after denying Bhaal. He's glad in a very lukewarm way, as you're saved his butt countless times, and he'd surely be dead without you, blah-blah. Thanks, Gale. Should we shake hands now? He reacted more strongly to my Tav being knocked prone by a phase spider in Act 1. I expected more from this last update than some over hyped neck kissing thing I still haven't triggered (is that with Astarion? I truly have no idea?), and a chance to "temporarily" add Alfira to the party. Which, why would I want to do that anyway? The NPC camp animations are somewhat lame. I'd like to see more movement and walking around. Scratch and the owlbear cub are in constant motion, and everyone else stands around grooming, kneeling, navel gazing, and sharpening a sword that should be a toothpick by act 3 in the same spot. You can give 3 likely prospects the performance feat, but getting them gathered to perform together at camp (which would be a nicer touch than shifting into street performer mode at the lower city central wall, IMO) is almost impossible, unless you corner them on the back wall of the Elfsong, where nobody else in camp can see or hear it anyway. It's just a lot of such little things that bother me and affect the immersion for me. You can pick up two bed rolls and drop them side by side to rp rest next to your romance partner, but how fun is that if he squeezes as far away from your Tav as possible and looks the other way? Don't get me wrong, I'm glad for most of the content, more than ever existed in any previous BG games, but the details that were either omitted or never considered are noticeably absent. I love this game, and the things that bug me are trivial in the scheme of things. But they do bother me.
