Can't say I particularly care about saving her, but I do agree it should at least be an option.
Maybe even an impractical and demanding one, where the conditions to intervene at the right moment are particularly hard to fulfill (i.e. extremely hard skill check, difficult roll, etc), but still, something that should at least be possible.
Realistically speaking I think the time for adding and modifying significant story content in this game is gone, but it's at least worth pointing it out for the sake of future productions.
I dont think this is a significant thing, just a nice, little one, if you a realy good guy type of a charater. Also a Durge could kill, everyone in this scenario if you want an evil walktrough. Everyone pleased. They managed it to give Minthara a chance if you are a godd guy soooo....
