I'm sure there are other threads that cover this but for the life of me I cannot find any so I decided to ask in a new thread. If anyone wants to link in a past thread on this discussion I would be happy to read up on what has been discussed before.
I just recently completed my 3 playthrough to take advantage of Honor mode and when I came to the final visit to the Astral Plane where I was set on freeing Orpheus from being a captive of the Emporer. For the final section of the game I took Shadowheart, Lae'zel and Karlach with my own Tav character. This time being that I didn't want my character to become Illithid to save the world and Karlach offers pretty quickly to do it, it did get me thinking that if I hadn't had Karlach with me and I still didn't want to become illithid it seems very odd given that in my playthrough Lae'zel became a devotee extreme of the Prince of the Comet to the point that his offering to become illithid doesn't really cause Lae'zel to offer even though she argues that he shouldn't make that sacrifice. My take on Lae'zel at this point would seem to be that she would want to save her prince from that fate given she has fully rejected Vlaketh in favor of being devoted to Orpheus. What do others think? Maybe I'm off my nut but it just really feels like Lae'zel would offer if Karlach and Tav don't offer to do it.
