After 100hrs of working properly the game started crashing at every corner.
Every couple of minutes on either save/load (or sometimes randomly) the game crashes. It is currently unplayable.
Here’s a list of everything I have tried so far and have not fixed the issue:
1. Reinstalling the game from scratch.
2. Deleting or renaming the ..Documents\Larian Studios\Divinity Original Sin 2 Definitive Edition folder
3. Creating a new profile and copying over some save files
4. Removing Cloud Save from Steam
5. Deleting the cache folder
6. Starting the game directly from the EoCApp.exe as Admin
7. Lowering graphics (this shouldn’t really matter I’m running every new game on Ultra with a 4080)
8. Checking the Windows Event Viewer (does not show any error)
9. Verifying integrity of files (Steam)
10. Reinstalling NVIDIA Drivers via NVIDIA App
11. Deleting all save files from both the Steam save folder and \Documents\Larian Studios\Divinity Original Sin 2 Definitive Edition\PlayerProfiles\Zahken\Savegames\Story
12. Manual saving
13. Windows Defender disabling
Some other things to note:
- I have no Anti malware such as BitDefender
- The Save files folder doesn’t seem to contain any new save files since arriving at Arx even though when starting the game and clicking on Continue I do indeed continue from where I left (Lizard consulate or Kemms garden)
- This is fixed by deleting all Save files but one, yet the crashes still remain.
- I have NO mods installed or any gift bags enabled.
- I've played Baldurs Gate 3 for over 200 hours without any issues.
- Scanned the C:// drive where everything is located and found no errors/issues
- gold.log does not show errors or anything of interest
Crash Dumps are all the same
