"Make something that you are almost embarrassed to share" - Quentin Tarantino.
Hello everyone here,
recently I watched Swen at the 2024 GoTY awards and was heartened when he said that developers should make the games they want to play.
This is the story that I want to experience, so in a way, I'm following his advice although I started writing this over a year ago.
BG3 is beyond a game, well for me at least. I got onboard as an early access player however once I had played a couple of hours I stopped and waited till the full experience was ready to play and I am so glad that I did so.
I have sat on my hands in regards to sharing my work here as I am a little embarrassed to share it however I would like people to read it and hopefully enjoy it.
So here is the introduction ~
"
Karlach, the beautiful brawling barbarian Tiefling awakes not long after the party back on Faerun to find herself no longer in the hell that is Avernus. Thus a new adventure starts for her and her friends as they begin to explore this strange new and seemingly peaceful, bountiful world that she seeks to understand. Her enigmatic lover, slowly reveals his past and his truly audacious plan to save the woman he loves as well as showing her this strange new world she is in.A/N
This is a reverse Isekai on what might possibly happen for Karlach and a few of the other characters reactions if they were brought to Earth. The title is from Sir Arthur C. Clarkes 3rd law which states, "Any technology sufficiently advanced is indistinguishable from magic". Since the world of Baldurs Gate is replete with magic, it's an interesting notion to explore how the natives of Faerun would react to our world.
This continues the romance between Karlach and Tal (I renamed my protagonist). It picks up not long after the epilogue party. Slow building, romance, revelations, candid intimate scenes culminating in world and realms altering events."
There are tags and like the game, the story contains an intimate NSFW scene which is tagged too. The work is hosted on Ao3 which I'll link to at the end.
I am almost at the end of the work, with a few chapters until the conclusion.
Thank you Larian Studios and everyone there for creating this adventure that takes us up and beyond the ordinary world.
