Hey! Just to clarify this process a bit, we do have this on our Modding Guidelines and FAQ:
What happens once a mod has been selected for console?
Once a mod has been selected for curation, it will then need to undergo internal testing before it is made available to console players. You will see the status as "Pending approval" during this time.
The marking of mods available for console and the curation process will be a continuously reviewed process, and may change to include additional functionality in the future. Mods ready for console that have passed testing will be released in batches, so bear in mind that it’s not an instant process after a mod is submitted!
Will all mods be made available on console?
Not all mods marked for console platforms will be selected for console curation. Selected mods will still be subject to these guidelines and testing timeframes!
What does the team look for when testing a mod for console curation?
The team at Larian tests mods for basic functionality, usability, and stability, as well as to make sure that they can be disabled without issues and meet the requirements stated above.
Bear in mind as mentioned above that not all mods are selected for curation due to the vast amount of mods on mod.io and uploaded every day and this is not a first come first serve basis.
Re: the first question - mod authors can 100% update any mods even if they're marked for consoles and mark these updates for consoles as well! This will not remove them or bump them down, since they are not first come first serve.
Mods selected for curation are tested in batches and the time it takes to test these batches and set them live can vary a lot depending on the content of the mod and how many mods passed curation.
As for the race mods issue, I can confirm it's something the team is still looking into.
