Everytime I have played this game and I am talking about way back in EA this thing has never worked right.
I just got it yesterday in my recent playthrough and I see its still bugged.
BUT ITS WORSE THAN BEFORE
BIG FREAKING ISSUES WITH IT I will list them here. Most important one will be listed first.
1. Using Freecast is still using my actions. Its supposed to be FREE meaning no action cost and also no spellslot cost. If I have no action it I cannot activate Freecast to do anything. It acting like I need an action.
If it worked right this Freecast would actually be a fun addition to the game. But unfortunately the way its workings its just lame. I want it for the freeaction... we never need another spell slot in this game. After all you just allow anyone to use scrolls (which is lame) but ya.
So please fix this it should not require an action to use.
note: If it was nerfed in a patch please revert it. If that is the case that is the absolute worst mistake you have made in this game.
reasoning seems obvious to me but I want the free action like the fighter gets when you dip 2 levels. I like to be able to use them to cast more spells in a single turn. Even if it is only 1 time a day it is a really FUN THING to do.
I doubt it was done on purpose as it is named Freecast (free)

2. Freecast is still able to give me unlimited spells
I can equip my boots for example and remove them and it refreshes my freecast.
This is a big problem that has existed back in EA for me.
Its not as big a deal for me though personally as I choose not to abuse this bug but its there and you might want to fix it.
Number 1 here is a big issue though for me.
