If I had to guess I'd say that there's a problem with the power supply, being able to play for some time and then it freezes when playing a demanding game seems typical of that kind of issue, but it could still be an issue with graphic drivers, or certain NVIDIA stuff like the overlay maybe.

Ever messed around with BIO's settings by chance?!?

Thing is if it keeps crashing and it also happens with other games, it could very well be a hardware related issue.

One tip, different games work and utilize assets differently so it does not matter if a game is more demanding, has better graphics, is more intense or such especially with hardware issues.

-edit 2- One major cause for hardware related issues is when motherboard, CPU, GPU and RAM sticks are not entirely compatible with one another in one or another way, have you considered taking the computer to a professional to check it through to ensure there's no incompatibility in this regard?
