Hi,

Could we classify flame blade as a finesse weapon.
It is a scimitar so it should technically be finesse.
It would be nice to make it viable for rogue oriented builds.

And while you're at it can you fix pyro quickness hat so it doesnt lose the extra bonus action when doing fire damage twice in the same turn.

E.g.:
1. Cast scorching rays with action -> get bonus action
2. Quicken spell scorching rays -> lose extra bonus action

Flame Blade is a scimitar, but it's not a standard weapon. It uses casting stats instead of STR and thus Finesse doesn't make much sense (Since it's still based on casting stats not martial skill)

That said, if some Rogue build wants to, they can still utilize it. Given the lack of stat requirements for a typical Rogue (I.e. Dex and Con) leaves you with options for pumping a 3rd stat to enable use of Flame Blade - Such as WIS if you're dipping Druid or CHR if you're a Tiefling.

In regards to Pyroquickness Hat, I've seen mentioned that it's not just about dealing fire damage twice, but rather bugging out when using certain bonus actions such as a Quickened Spell or an off-hand attack. Either way, a fix would be good.

The reason why it should be finesse is so it would work with sneak attack.

Similar to shadowblade, shadowblade uses your casting stat but is still a finesse weapon, so it still works with sneak attack.

I would love to make a rogue swashbuckler with a flaming blade. But currently it would be useless since flame blade doesnt allow us to trigger sneak attacks.

Sneak attack? It's on fire!

Luke Skywalker: I don't, I don't believe it.

Seconded. Was surprised Shadowblade correctly has the property, but somehow flame blade got missed.

Again, seconded. (Apologies, new to the forum and don't know if there is a way to "Like" any given post or entry in order to show support for it.)

Well, you can sneak attack with virtually anything so long as the basic requirements for sneak attack are met. You can sneak attack with a glowing weapon with the Light cantrip applied to it. Being Bright and clearly visible to an enemy has never disqualified a rogue from applying sneak attack, either in BG3 or in the table top version. (Sorry if you were making a joke or something and it just went over my head 😅)
