HI Larian.

The Bladesinger is a subclass I have a lot of experience with on tabletop, over 1000 hours of play across 12+ characters. I was really looking forward to its implementation in BG3 until I booted up the beta and found that you had changed the Bladesong calculation from Intelligence Modifier to AC etc. to Proficiency bonus.

This is a terrible choice. It leaves the bonus strictly worse. At level to Proficiency bonus is +2, while intelligence modifier on wizards is +3. At your cap. In my BG3 playthroughs, at level 12, my Wizards have had +5 Intelligence modifier, while they would only have +4 Proficiency Bonus.

Please fix this.

You can make it Proficiency Bonus +1, or you can make the bonus either Proficiency Bonus or Intelligence modifier, whichever is higher, if you are against actually just using intelligence.

I think a lot of people agree with you on this. It was odd to see the change from Intelligence modifier to proficiency bonus instead.

Maybe if they worded it as Spellcasting Modifier instead of Proficiency bonus?

The options you proposed at the end are both good, although I would prefer them try to assign it to Intelligence or Spellcasting modifier instead. Feels more consistent with the subclass.

Making proficiency be the value feels weird.
