You know the saying: “Given enough opportunity, players will optimise the fun out of the game.” wink And BG3 gives us lots of opportunity, by virtue of playtime and options. It’s just that playing something suboptimal can feel like less fun, once you know what the optimal builds are. Kind of like a “solved format” in Magic: The Gathering: You can try to go against the decks to beat with some rogue build (not literally wink ), but you will often feel the suboptimal nature of the build.

For example, I’d love to play a Poison/Acid/Necrotic caster with no access to the usual Fire/Ice/Lightning spells, but the choice of enemies in this game just makes that objectively worse, given their resistances and immunities.
