Aside from needing a way to cancel concentration on this spell after combat so it can be traversed through I'd suggest making Spiked Growth do 2d4 damage instead of just the 1d4. Its taking literally half of the damage away from the spell and seems unnecessarily harsh.

Copied from DnD beyond: Level 2nd Casting Time 1 Action Range/Area 150 ft (20 ft ) Components V, S, M * Duration Concentration 10 Minutes School Transmutation Attack/Save None Damage/Effect Control (...)
The ground in a 20-foot radius centered on a point within range twists and sprouts hard spikes and thorns. The area becomes difficult terrain for the duration. When a creature moves into or within the area, it takes 2d4 piercing damage for every 5 feet it travels. The transformation of the ground is camouflaged to look natural. Any creature that can't see the area at the time the spell is cast must make a Wisdom (Perception) check against your spell save DC to recognize the terrain as hazardous before entering it.
I agree, it should be 2d4, they nerfed the spell and it seems unnecessary to weaken, especially since it is a terrain spell which is something Larian usually does a lot with.

This reduction is further compounded that it currently does even less damage since it does not proc with the proper distance. should proc every 1.5m but procs approximately every 6m. my favorite spell does 1/8th of the damage compared to that of table top

Larian nerfed a surface?? Is there any logic to their actions?
So you should be able to center it on someone, and it would proc 4 times if they want to move out of it? 8d4 damage is decent. Unless you can just jump out of it in BG3.
I really, really wish they would create encounters where spells like this would be useful. But there are hardly any choke points. Where's that narrow mountain pass or similar with a horde of melee enemies charging through? Any hazard to block their path would be amazing. But no, every battlefield is wide open with lots of elevation, even indoors and enemies are always scattered all over. And many enemies have been given teleport abilities and ranged weapons, and the never ending fire bomb spam...
Yeah, the encounter design in BG3 kind of sucks. High ground has been blown completely out of proportion and other kinds of interesting battlefields don't even exist. How about a cave where two groups of goblins charge you from different corridors. Block off one group with a well placed Web or Spike Growth. Snipe their Booyahg with an archer. Of course Web doesn't ever work because the first fire arrow or fire bomb removes it.
Why is battlefield control not a thing at all?? It's just about taking high ground and shoving them down.

Not only is the damage nerfed but it doesn't even seem to proc every 5 feet either?

Spike growth is way too strong now
I m playing with honour mode and the game seems to be less interessant already at level 4 because of this spell.
I saw it has been buffed, but unfortunetly, it s way way too strong
The spell should proc every 8 feet or be restored like before to the 1D4 damage (maybe 1D3+1 damage should be ok)

The area spell should be reduced from 6 meters radius to 4.5 meters
Then as there is no chance to be taking in account after few years since the release of BG3, i will modify the spell with the toolkit, and restart my run.

Dude ... you are misspelling "i want" so it almost looks like "it should" ... And no, it should not. Feel free to dislike it, and modify it however you like ... but 20f, wich is raw, is about 6m ... ergo, this is perfectly corect. As the matter of fact, this spell is one of not that much surprisingly that are working ALMOST exactly as they should.

Let’s take the temperature down, folks.
And definitely not make disagreements personal.
