HI, I can't seem to find an option in Steam to disable automatic updates of games. I can only tell it not to update until I launch the game. I don't want to update until my current PT is finished , because I 'm using mods which might no longer work. What should I do ?

As with the previous patch, we will likely have a Patch 7 beta branch available after the patch release.

Excellent news! A couple of days ago I set GOG not to auto-update so I can finish my current first person view modded playthrough (just beat Myrkul last night), but I'm looking forward to trying it when that's done.

Arcane Archer and Drunken monk got fixed/reworked, so their abilities actually work? Because even on last stress test patch, these 2 subclasses were basically non-functional.

Will that be April 15th for PC Mac and Console Users?
Or just for PC/Mac and then consoles at a later date like with Patch 7?
If the latter, any rough non-committal estimate for the console dates?

Thanks as always for all the awesome work!

According to a comment in another thread, it's all platforms releasing on the same day:

Crossing fingers for at least some of the longstanding bugs that mar the experience on PS5 to be fixed, but after so long, I kind of don't expect it.

At least the huge dialogue/animation bug will be fixed though, right?

You can use the Steam offline function, that way you can play the old patch without disabling your internet connection on your computer.

Personally I would try the old branch option that you can find in the beta tab on steam (when it's available), I assume that would let you play without going steam offline mode.

Yes, I used the beta of patch 6 to delay patch 7, but it was done with a rollback operaion, so patch 7 got installed, I noticed it broke some mods, then reinstalled the game from the patch 6 branch. It would be nicer to avoid upgrading and then regressing back, by not upgrading in the first place.

Oh..yeah, I see why you would want to avoid that! Offline mode and auto-updates off is the best option then.

At what time (GMT) will this be made available? I'm in the UK and my version is from October 2024 with no update pending. (Sent 1100hrs London time)

IIRC Larian never reveals WHEN the release is to come, but - again IIRC - the patches tend to come in European mid afternoon - GMT 1600 or something like that.

will the patch 6 beta branch (steam) still be available and accessible as well or will it expire? smile

i myself, and quite a few of my friends, are still finishing campaigns up on patch 6 so i'd be curious to know or if i should prepare to lose my campaigns xD

(pretty modded games, so we were finishing them up before moving to patch 7 to not lose our campaigns)

I don't think you need the patch 6 branch available online to continue to play it.
Only if you accidentally update and want to revert and reinstall patch 6 would you need it.

Well; it's in my Steam update list. Waiting for me to launch the game. I clicked the "remove from waiting list" cross, but it is still launching the update if I try to start the game.
Also, no patch 7 beta to be found in the beta list.

Update : starting bg3_dx11.exe from the bin folder doesn't launch anything.

2nd update : starting bg3_dx11.exe actually restarts the steam update that I had put into pauze.

There seems to be no way out ?
