I've noticed that at level 4, SH's portrait has been fixed. Which has lasted until level 5.
If this is somehow connected to levels, then it's not certain whether this fix will last, or if another higher level will break any particular character's portraits.
You can also trigger this bug by respec and use of magic mirror
