is shadowblade designed to dispel whenever you have a character leave the party?

tooltip says until long rest but dismiss Gale for 1 min at camp while you ask any other character to do something then have Gale return and he needs to recast his blade again

note: i say Gale in this example but its any character... i find it hard to believe this never came up in test so perhaps Larian did it by design
