yes thats nothing to do with mods... the base game is playing an animation and will move to the next character when that animation times out

they already had most the code left over so no it didn't take 6 months
giving Steam users a few months head start is about marketing... thats not the same as "testing"

fixing bugs without generating new one takes a solid understanding of code + documentation ... Larian only has one of those things

The bug I found is not serious, but annoying enough.

Given the sheer size of the game and the substantial changes they implemented with patch 8, I'm surprised there aren't more bugs.

I would imagine that debugging a game of this scope can be a nightmare - especially if you're adding/changing as much stuff as they have with this latest update. Even if they know about a bug, it's probably not as simple as clicking a "fix that crap"-button for them. Changing one thing to fix a bug might cause other elements/mechanics of the game to glitch out and/or they might not even know initially what exactly causes certain bugged behavior and thus have to do a deep dive into the code to find that out.

Thanks, Salo! Communication would be good from Larian - honoring the players - when the most glaring bugs are expected to be fixed!

A minor thing really but there seems to be something wrong with Gale and Halsin's camp idles.

Gale gets out his book, then the animation resets and plays out normally during the second round.

Halsin's whittling animation seems to have stopped playing. While everyone else goes through there usual routines, he's just standing there, occasionally rolling his shoulders or crossing his arms.

I haven't had time to play much, but in the Nautiloid, one of the imps on the bridge just fell through the map.
And at camp the first night scene, where our character contemplates, what happened, got skipped.

After Level Up the portraits don't look like before but similar to what they looked like in EA. Just a frontal shot of the character and not even centered.

Oh, this reminds me. In Blighted Village pre P8 I occasionaly had Goblins melting into walls. Now I regularly have them "seeping" through the roof of the smithy into the room below - or even outside the building.

The first camp scene varies depending on location , party make up and a few other triggers but yes imp falling off the ship happened on one of my runs as well

I posted a thread on this one on here (and on reddit).

According to some, this is not new behavior - but I sure thought it was as I had never seen this happen on any of my play-throughs and only ever saw it when I was watching patch-8-stress-testers' YT-streams of a pre-release candidate.

On my first patch 8 run (release version), it happened right away upon first level up on the beach (SH's portrait glitched). Then it happened again when re-spec-ing SH and Lae'zel once Withers was available. It "fixed" itself during the "natural" level up from 3 to 4 and it doesn't seem to have happened again since (party leveled to 5 in the meantime and I re-spec-ed Gale once with Withers). Though I did see Astarion's mini-portrait as just an empty frame with a black surface inside when I first pet the Owlbear at camp and got Astarion's approval for it. His portrait in the camp-chest menu looks fine, but since he's never in my active party at this stage, he may have glitched out without me noticing it.

I have played thousands of hours since EA and never recall seeing this ever before Patch 8. It can also be triggered by Respec and using Magic Mirror. It's actually quite annoying. It also affects Hierlings and companions made using the Companion Mod wand

Not sure what triggered it but all members of my party now "Vulnerable" (double damage) to ALL forms of damage! Luckily during combat the effects are not being applied. I tried many different fixes including console restart, multiple long rests, adding new companions and hirelings (they immediately are infected lol). Respec's either through Wither's or Cheater's scroll have no effect.

Never seen this before. Then again I find there are a lot of strange things happening in Patch 8.

Started a new game which is thus far unaffected.

Good to hear that I'm not imagining things - other than the Minsc-glitch (which I've seen from the game with all sorts of patches/versions) I had never seen this bug in any of my runs.

Weirdly enough (and I'm keeping my fingers *very* crossed), after seemingly happening all the time in the very early stage of the run, it hasn't happened in quite a while now. The last time it *did* happen was the instance I described earlier during the first respec-session with Withers (party level 3). Though I'll admit that I'm kinda reluctant to go near Withers with SH for fear that she'll glitch out again instantly - she seems the most susceptible to this sort of thing, at least in my play-through.

Party is now at level 6 with ~80% of Act I done and neither natural level ups nor the occasional respec (only did one for Karlach to fix her attributes and one with Gale to change his feat) resulted in glitched portraits.

Again: Since I don't swap characters around a whole lot at this stage (other than rotating Lae'zel and Karlach from day to day), neglected characters like Wyll or Astarion *might* be glitching out without me noticing it.

I am not sure if this is related, but I had a weird portrait bug with Minsc once that was caused by him having the Titanstring Bow equipped when leveling up/ reskilling. So, if the bug occurred during a specific timeframe but then never again afterwards, maybe it is an equipment issue too? (Perhaps not as likely if it happens for all characters.)

Is the other "Annoying Portrait Art Bug" still present?

See here: https://forums.larian.com/ubbthread...ords=portrait&Search=true#Post944519

Because it would make sense to bugfix the entire portrait system and not just individual elements of it.

I am very disappointed to see that next to none of the numerous and everpresent bugs on the PS5 version (most of which I have reported in the past) seem to have been fixed in Patch 8. Is console just not a priority for Larian? This just isn't up to the standards of polish I expect from AAA games, especially on console.

Some examples are:

-The much-reported cutscene audio/animation bug that constantly ruins scenes throughout the game unless you restart the game every hour
-Movement showing as 0ft in the stat sheet for all creatures outside of the party(no way to tell whether en enemy can reach you or not)
-Character sheet bug for inactive companions at camp where the tooltips show the modifiers for an active party member instead
-Bug with name display on the Inspiration screen, causing names to show as just a comma or not at all (though they did fix a bug causing the custom character to show with a default portrait!)
-Bug preventing you from changing equipment on inactive companions by clicking their equipment slots (must select Equip from the context menu on the gear item in the inventory instead)
-Bug where if you use the Jump action outside of combat and cancel out of the target selection, your character from then on starts flinching every time they come to a stop after moving, until you stand still for several seconds

New bugs are to be expected with new patches, but these are all old bugs that ought to have been fixed by now. I hope this isn't a case where this version is just left to rot, it's not like few people are playing on console.

But is there at least a photo mode on console?
