The photo mode is a dandy marketing tool, but in a real campaign it's not going to provide such good mementos because of the spell and buff efects that can't be hidden from view.

I meant the photo mode comment to be ironic, because it should have been about the last thing after all the bugs and errors were fixed. I don't care about the photo mode, I'm a grown man, not a TikTok little kid. I agree on how this terrible patch 8 could have passed the stress test. Of course I have a theory on that, it was "stress tested" by people who just wanted to get patch 8 three months early. I still maintain that it's a terrible disrespect to Larian to release this patch in this unusable form, before a holiday weekend.

to be fair to Larian their last 7 patches set fire to the system but this one actually boots up for most people... i mean yes that bar is low but its still an improvement

Anyone else found that the Dance pose is missing from photo mode. I removed all mods and checked file integrity but its still missing. Could it be SBBF data files? Any ideas? Thanks

I'm not at all sure if this is new, but since it involved a crash (and those have become a non-issue for me since quite a few patches ago), I thought I'd mention it:

Tried to switch to a different character (away from Tav) during the conversation with Isobel just prior to the Marcus-fight. Tried to switch to SH to put Protection from Good and Evil on Isobel and the game froze and then the Windows dialogue about "program is not responding" popped up.

I *think* it happened very late during the conversation, like one or two lines before the big cut-scene with the Winged Horrors starts.

Also: During said fight, something weird happened with Marcus. Karlach managed to down him on turn two, but for some reason he was just knocked out. I double checked but my party was not on non-lethal damage,so I'm not sure what happened there. He had my Tav's Hexblade-Curse on him when he "died", but I didn't get the Spectre pop-up/reaction. Probably because he's an Aberration and/or because he was unconscious. In any case, instead of having 1 HP remaining, he suddenly was back up to over 100 HP or so (full health, IIRC) while remaining prone and unconscious. Never seen this happen in any of my previous/pre-patch 8 runs, so I'm kinda suspecting that the Accursed Spectre reaction might have something to do with this.

That's exactly what I was talking about re Minsc's portrait. For me it usually happens with the Dead Shot, but I guess any bow/longbow can trigger this? Or at least that model of longbow as I think Titanstring and Dead Shot use the same basic model.

His portrait will show the correct pose and all that but will be super dark with a bit of bow-string superimposed over it. Quite easy to ID that superimposed object when it's happening with the Dead Shot as that bow's string is bright pink or red.

This has happened pretty much from the start for me - possibly even during my first run which must've been in late 2023.

I've still seen it happen on patch 7, when I forget to use my workaround. Which is to not equip any non-default items on Minsc when I first pick him up and then level him from 1 to 12. Seems to do the trick as it's been a long time since I've seen that particular glitch.

The incredibly obnoxious and consistent bug (on PS5) where trying to select a character during combat instead selects their summons is also still present, and has been there probably since release. You have to select the character twice to actually select them. I assume that as before, if you have 2 or more summons active during combat and they have their turn at the same time as the character who controls them, it's IMPOSSIBLE to select the character until you end the turns of all but one of the summons, because trying to select the character simply rotates between selecting their summons.

I actually can not believe that this bug is still there after so many patches.

I may be spoiled after mostly playing Japanese games and being used to much higher QA standards, but it's still insane to go from FF7 Rebirth, a massive open-world game that ran flawlessly without a single glitch for 100+ hours on release without any patches, to... this.

Edit: I've found a PS5 bug that HAS been fixed though: The camera no longer unhinges from the controlled character after using the cursor mode. That was really annoying in Patch 7, often causing the camera to move far away from the party.

On all my saved games (many characters) the hot keys are blank. They still do what they're supposed to do when you click, as far as I can tell, but I cannot see what they are, which makes life difficult.

New games run fine (as I've disabled mods). I've even enabled mods that passed Patch 8 testing, but some others, like ImpUI (and increase number of party members?) are not listed among them. As I've used nothing other than that and things like hair styles and clothing styles, could that be it? I've only used the integrated mod manager if that makes a difference.

The old games aren't fixed even if I disable mods, and that is, of course, not recommended.

I'd upload a picture but I have no idea where to upload a picture offsite that I can link to.

A second issue, the mouse hover over for some, but not all, slotted equipment is wrong. Haste Helm simply has

Empowered spell
Roll damage dice with Advantage

which is completely wrong and no pictures or anything else as a description, though the helm pic and icon itself are correct. All other equipment or items slotted or in inventory seem to be ok in mouse hover.

ETA: Weird. As a test, I dragged it back into inventory, it shows up correctly in mouse hover. However, I drag it back on, equipped, and it's broken again.

A "cosmetic" problem ?
I summoned the quasit to leave the magic lamp from Ramazith's tower. The quasit remains in the lamp but its portrait remains stuck to my Tav. So if I click on it -- even when I'm like, in the temple of Bhaal -- , it takes me back to the lamp. This didn't happen before patch 8.

When we started a PS5/PC crossplay game
with the PS5 as host
during character creation and adventure launch, we were asked to wait for other players to arrive even though there were only two of us, and we both validated the creation.

Bug from previous patch still present for me. After fight with Minsc in sewers he runs out to find Boo and get stuck after breaking the first wall. He just stands and do nothing, cutscene with Boo also doesn't trigger and i can't speak with Minsc again. Also in fight with him and dopplegangers he didn't do anything during his turn, like his AI was broken. Also i can't laod a save before the fight cause i play Honor mode.Did anybody else bump into this bug too?

I'll leave a few additional smaller ones here because I haven't gotten around to file bug reports:

  • The audio for Jaheira's greeting doesn't play anymore after saving Minsc. I haven't yet checked if this is related to freeing him or hinges on approval.
  • The bust that controls the trap door to Helsik's secret basement has become doubled. There now is a free to use and a prohibited one. If you enter the shop via the trap door, the free-to-use one gets turned. (I noticed this in a save in which we had already entered the Lower City map before patch 8)
  • If you skill out of Bard and had previously learned "Improved Bardic Inspiration" you get to keep and use it after switching classes.
  • Tara does not sell the "Hat of the Sharp Caster" any longer, so she doesn't change places. The only way I found to make her switch to Cora's house was to grab the hat from the roof of Sorcerous Sundries, donate it to Tara and then buy it back. This might not sound like a big deal, but in order for Tara to show up in your story finale for Avatar-Gale you have to have met her twice in the Lower City, so this is a tad annoying when playing the origin.

update all your mods. i forget which one it is but i had the same problem. i update the one involved and it now shows up.

Is anyone else having issues with the menu to switch items between characters? Ever since the update, on all of my saves, I cannot switch items to other characters. I play on ps5.
