I wasn't able to purchase BD3 due to my console being outdated. My kids have their current gens in their rooms, so I never wanted to play this game in their rooms for obvious reasons. So fast forward to today, and I have decided to upgrade my console for the sole purpose of playing this game. I know, I'm late to the party, but I was watching enough of the game on youtube and twitch to know it was going to be the kind of game I like, but I also tried to avoid spoilers, so I going into this game almost blind.

As I await the arrival of the new console, I purchased the game for my account.....and here is where it gets interesting...my old Xbox One, the one that isn't officially compatible for the game, allowed me to play on the cloud!!! So despite not having the new console I was able to play for the last 2 days via the cloud on my old system. IF ONLY I HAD EVER KNOWN THIS I would have been playing from day one!!!!!! Well better late than never, especially with all the bugs sorted out, for the most part.

My first time playing I rolled a Dwarf Paladin, and already broke his oath in the first day! Ooops.... I just wanted to share that bit of fun news. Until I get my new system I will be enjoying it on the old xbox one system! Larian is awesome to allow it to work on this older console.

P.S. don't kill me for not knowing about the cloud option, I missed that in their advertisements. Huzzah!

I also bought my PS5 to play BG3, in fact I bought the physical game before I had the console. I was very excited.

(I also bought the PS5 to play Horizon Forbidden West DLC, which only worked on the PS5, even though the regular game worked on PS4).

If this is the "I upgraded my system to play this game" thread, I had to replace my PC graphics card before I could play. It was 10 years old and I couldn't play anything new. Doom Eternal ran at 20 fps.

I haven't played a paladin, but I've heard it can be easy to break your oath. One of the biggest annoyances compared to tabletop D&D is that you can't say "oops, I didn't mean to do that!" when some terrible unforeseen consequence happens
