I won against her and denounced Bhaal, who killed me, then Withers came and revived me and said that I am free of Bhaals taint. Actually, I 'm specifically referring to the other option.

When Durge rejects Bhaal after the Orin fight, rebels against their father and get killed and raised by Withers, the bond between spawn and demigod is broken. So here the situation is clear. I'm specifically wondering about the case where, after the defeat of Orin, you accept to become chosen of Bhaal. From then on, Bhaal expects you to follow his dogma of murder. Although you still have your personality and freedom during the game, it really comes into play after the defeat of the Netherbrain. Bhaal wants you to dominate it and use the Absolute's power to exterminate all sentient life. If you resist and kill the Netherbrain, that's when Bhaal gets really angry with you, and that is the case I was curious about. This time, the disobedience won't get you killed, but you become possessed by Bhaal and your free will is gone, even though you can still struggle somewhat in your mind, your body follows Bhaal's command. I guess that you haven't seen the camp reunion scene with Durge in this condition. It's gruesome and fascinating. Durge vaguely remembers the companions and the location, but only wants to murder everyone of the party after they go to rest. As the narrator comments, when you can't contain yourself and p** all over yourself. "You're worse than an animal".

Now, what happens at the camp after your intrusion, is left open. The game ends with Durge patiently waiting outside till everyone has gone to rest. Personally, I don't think Durge stands a chance to really kill all of them , as everyone is just as poweful as they are. And with Astarion and Withers present, it seems unlikely Durge could surprise the partymembers while they sleep.

But supposing Durge survives the raid and escapes alive, and continues to live under Bhaal's control with the sole purpose to end all life. What will happen if Bhaal is banished by Withers. It would be reasonable to believe Durge is exorcised and becomes their former self again. But maybe not, maybe they are irrecoverably lost and become some kind of monster. I was wondering about that. (Not in the least because the story/cinematics after the nertherbrain's defeat are really powerful and thought-provoking. And also, after so many hours of gameplay, I want to know what happens with my PC after the game ends.)

I read the Wiki about Bhaal and the Bhaalspawn, but that was not instructive for me. Maybe in the Forgotten Realms writings the Bhaalspawn/Bhaal relation is explained in a better way. I haven't read all this. So I was just wondering what others, who have gone through this ending, think about it.

Those three bounced back so often and I doubt, the get written out of the pantheon honestly. But if in theory that would be the case, if Jergal or Ao would be able to really end the Dead Three, then I assume, that Durge would be in control again. If they vanish, because they are made of Bhaals essence, I'm not sure. I think they might be left a pretty broken mess and I doubt, they will be able to recover from that. I don't think, that they will cease to exist though,they still have a corporal body and when tadpoled, had a mind of their own, so I think they will continue to exist, but we probably won't ever know.
