Shadows seem broken or something with patch 8. The difference between low and high is nearly not noticeable. Most grass and flora no longer have shadows, the shadows that are visible are not as dark. A lot of flickering shadows on the characters faces in dialog scenes.

Here is shadows from Patch 6 and shadows from Patch 8. You can see the grass on one picture has shadows while they are missing in the second, as well as how dark the shadows are.

I really don't understand how it is possible that this passed the extensive field tests.

Annoyingly, when you play a melody as bard, the "notes" around you do disappear in photo mode, and that would be the one instance where I'd like to see an effect in the snapshot.
Also when playing violin, the bow (or fiddlestick or whatever the correct word is in English ) disappears from view ! Leaving photomode brings it back. So you can't get a decent photo of a violin-playing bard.

I'm noticing sometimes if I use Alt key to see what items are around me and move the camera around with the Q,E the text jitters.Doesn't always happens but it happens frequently enough.It's just the text that jitters not the game itself.

Even with the update that they just put through I still can't use the the item action button. This is so frustrating because all I want to do is play my game.

You can also try setting the camera rotation to one of the mouse buttons. Then move the cursor over the name of an item while pressing ALT, the camera rotation mouse button will not work. Until Patch 8 this was fine. I am unspeakably disappointed.

The new hotfix has made things much worst.

1.Hovering the mouse icon on a "RED" enemy makes the attack icon laggy.

2.Sometimes looting a corpse makes the opening of the bag animation laggy.50/50 if it happens.(with ALT-key pressed at the same time)

3.Pressing the ALT key to show all loot around (especially with alot of dead bodies around) makes the text on the bodies jitter/lag alot when turning the camera around

4.Turning the camera while pressing the ALT-key to display a bunch of dead bodies can sometimes cause stutters.

5.The map UI on the top right is jittery when turning the camera around.

This is not jitter/lag. If the cursor is over the name of the object while ALT is pressed, the camera will stop rotating. Don't you get it?

Speaking of jitters I'm getting strange instances of jittering UI icons as well, such as spell icons when selecting new spells on level-up. This is on PS5. Nothing major though.

More annoyingly, the map in the Lower City now gets severe FPS drops when scrolling around on it after they added shopkeeper icons.

What you're describing is totally a different issue and I noticed it too.Camera panning stops as soon as the mouse hovers over loot.

What I have Is a different issue.When there's lots of corpses/loot around and I press the alt-key to make them visible it makes ALL text jitter and lagg when panning the camera around.The TEXT is jittery/laggy.IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE CAMERA STOPPING.

Okay ever since the first small update of patch 8, whenever I fast travel, the colors completely break and it turns into a psychedelic tie-dye. Anyone have any idea how to fix this? This is basilisk gate. I am using a PS5.

Since the hotfix, the UI for my game lags considerably. I play on a docked Steam Deck, using a Bluetooth controller. The UI for the tooltip, the radial action wheel, and the turn tracker during combat lags. The tooltip specifically lags slow enough to freeze on its fade-in and fade-out while switching to a new item. It doesn't seem tied to FPS performance.

Does somebody have a problem with Jaheira being physically under ground at camp? I can still select her and talk to her but she remains like that until I try to move her around.

Yes, I have seen this as well -- Jaheira shows up underground at camp sometimes starting with patch 8. Fortunately you can still interact with her, but definitely needs to be fixed.

Some other things I have seen only since patch 8 launch, which I'll report via the bug reporting mechanism when I get a free minute to create saves:

(1) There is a conversation point that invokes on the first character that turns south just after going past the Baldur's Mouth building on the main street from the Basilisk Gate. The conversation never happens, and the character is effectively soft-locked from that point on -- unselectable and unmovable, just sitting there in conversation mode for a conversation that never completes. (Other characters are also limited in what they can do.) I've had to avoid going through that side-street because of it.

(2) The screen often goes completely black after transitions to a new area (either via portal, or for example in the Ramizith Tower basement as you go through certain doors), though mouse highlighting still works. Minimizing BG3 with the Windows key and then maximizing it again is the workaround. This only seems to be happening in Act 3 -- I didn't see it in Act 2 despite being on patch 8 during it. (The first time I saw it was when transporting back to the Rivington Portal from the Circus.)

There are some other weirdnesses, such as a static screech that sometimes happens when selecting a different party member, but they are not blockers.

Increasing your level in the character sheet results in a black screen and requires restarting the game (PS5).

Same here. Haven't seen this on Jaheira but on others. It's also not always them stuck in the ground, but sometimes they'll levitate slightly above it. Happened last night with Withers when I went to camp after first picking him up. Speaking with him and/or doing my first re-spec fixed this.

I've also (rarely) seen this happen while moving around in the game-world. A character would be running around with the ground at their knee- or even waist-level and in the "right" terrain they could become fully "submerged" if you moved them to certain spots on the map. Fast traveling and/or going to camp would usually fix this. Since it's only ever happened once or twice in all my play-throughs, I've no idea what caused this and I also haven't been able to re-produce the behavior.

I had this effect when fighting with some fists in the graveyard of the lower city.
The fists were underground. I coould see their outline when hovering the mouse over their icon at the top of the screen. But I couldn't hit them with any weapon, as I would just hit the ground. Unfortunately the fists were able to fire arrows from underground that could hit us.
