Paradox had a thread like this for the endless updates to Stellaris. In that world the more popular mod-makers were pretty swift in getting there mods updated. No experience with BG3 yet in this regard. Just recently started a tactician run with mods, about 25.
So here's a reporting thread in advance for what people are experiencing with their modded campaigns once they go to Patch 8.

There's a good chance that they're literally unplayable depending on what happens with improved UI,since it's a requirement for a majority of mods.

Patch 8 was installed, I rnow run v4.1.1.6758208
On launch, it crashes with an error concerning native camera tweaks. I removed the native mods dll and the game launches normally, but native camera doesn't work anymore of course. I didn't use WASD movement, but as this is also a native mod, it will not work anymore either.
Not having the native camera is a a huge regression in UI functionality for me.

Hello. I have a question concerning mod support. A few mods mention from the game : if you uninstall this mod, this and that will happen (objects will disappear etc.) I've not installed a lot of mods but wanted to try a little for Patch 8, and I installed for example "All camp Clothes" from the game. Once the mod has been "applied" to a save, there's no way to remove it. If you remove it, the load crashes back to menu with "302 error". I was wondering if there was any change to the way mods were handled, otherwise I'm a bit at a lost as to why certain "unremovable" mods explains what happens if you remove them?

Console here:Several mods seem to be conflicting with the new subclasses and preventing them from showing up.

My approach will be to run the Patch 7 beta for now to finish my mod enhanced tactician run and watch for the mod prompts for update on my installed mods. When they all cue to update will check in with what the creators are saying. Patch later to 8 for a new run when this one's done. Still in the last half of act 2 - so plenty of time for the dust to settle and mod fixes to sort out.

The Better Inventory mod is currently making the game unplayable — I can't use the inventory at all. And if I remove the mod, I can't open my save; I have to reinstall the mod to access it again. Does anyone have any suggestions? I really don't want to lose my progress.

Anyone else found that the photo mode dance option has disappeared? I assume that is a mod causing that but I have no idea which one. Thanks for any thoughts.

Does anyone have an idea what to do when the built-in mod manager is not working? I only ran one extender; all of the other Nexus mods were removed ages ago, and I use the built-in mod manager within the game. However, as of now (first time running after patch 8) - unfortunately, I didn't catch the update on time - it doesn't work. As my installed list shows, I have none of the mods enabled. When I click on the little rectangle, nothing happens. Like mods not working, that's fair enough, I guess they will in time. Does anyone have a solution? Thanks.

Mods that need Osiris script are a problem at the moment, so sadly no owlbear cub summon or Myshka coming to camp atm. For pc players, there is a fix concerning the new classes not showing up, when you use a modded class or subclass. I don't know, if it is available for console players yet.

My mods that use Osiris are working on Patch 8, obviously more testing never hurts to identify rare issues or mod conflicts.

been trying to figure out how to make sheathed shields visible again...for some reason patch 8 completely destroyed a very simple lsx edit mod beyond repair lol

Extremely cumbersome mod installation (load order) with a mix of mod.io & Nexus mods. I have painstakingly put together a party of 6 via Party Limit Begone, because of races and classes etc. one shouldn't have to load too many mods in the individual instances. That's why I only have one race mod (Shardar-Kai), which is required from the start of character creation. So far so good.
The initial party is created and I wanted to load the rest of the up to 100 mods into the savegame as usual. Unfortunately, this no longer works as it did in patch 7. It only loads at 75-83% or instant CTD with load order reset.
Next attempt. Now it's really tedious. One always have to add a single mod, load the savegame and save it again, add the next mod and so on. I've been trying all day. But here too it comes to the CTD with load order reset...
In addition, some mod breaks the bardic casting animation, but I can't locate it, because of the annoying mods reset every time...
I did without ImpUI and all other mods are up to date. The last mods that caused CTD with mod reset were from mod.io that I wanted to add...

I just had to drop my most recent playthrough because after beating the final boss of Act 2 the game is crashing constantly. And by constantly I mean a 100% repeatable crash every time I attempt to start a dialogue with anyone in the post-boss celebration. I think I'm done with using mods through mod.io integration. The UI sucks, the selection is sparser than the alternative and it seems to be basically impossible to track where technical problems come from.

I decided to try new classes and Tactician Enhanced in new patch 8 honour run on Mac. Getting crashes in act 1 quite often and the only fix is to disable tactician enhanced. The crashes will happen when walking around - latest when about to take on the gnolls. After disabling and saving I have been able to re-enable and continue.

Hello: I have several pre-Patch 8 save games that cannot be played, apparently due to mods that are incompatible with Patch 8 but cannot be externally removed from the save. I very much wish that Larian or a Modder could come up with an application to allow such old saves to be fixed. The only method I have heard of is to reinstall the prior build of the game (Patch 7) and run it from there, and remove all mods. Yes it might work but it also means ruining any Patch 8 saves until you build back Patch 8 and all the mods they use. Very time-consuming. Any suggestions about reviving old saves?
