When playing the embrace Durge, you are actually playing Bhaal. You are the manipulator, you chose the path Durge took, you are the Father.
This is a valid interpetation I feel, I like it.
The blood cloning Sceleritas mentions would support it.
And if it is true, then it would mean even Bhaal has some humanity or had when they where human. As you have the option to resist and be kind to your fellows.
Personally I feel embrace Durge is a happy ending. Not perhaps for the world, but for my PC.
She never smiled so much in the whole game as she did in that ending cutscene. It's really well done. Good job Larian!
