Only thing I can think of is if you have tried downloading a specific Patch 7 version from Steam Archives. Would not that version have the old dll's?
I'm not sure if you are doing the old branch from the Beta tab when you say going back to Patch 7. And if you are, I would suggest trying a fresh download from an old version.

Doing it this way you have to go through Steam console and you have to know the number of the version you want. AND you can not interrupt the download or it will abort the whole download since it's downloading through Steam console.

Thanks. I used the beta branch for the rollback tp P7. I still hope someone at Larian can fix it in patch 8.

You seem to be using the Larian launcher... have you tried to disable/bypass it? Not sure if this is still relevant but when I had crashing/freezing issues a long while ago, disabling the launcher fixed things for me. I haven't gone back to it since, so I don't know how it would perform today and with patch 8.

I launched from Steam, but also ran the bg3_dx11.exe and bg3.exe images directly from windows on the BG3 bin folder. Is there still something else to do to disable the steam launcher ?
