So I have an idea for an homebrew Barbarian subclass... But lack the wherewithall to actually convert ideas into mods. So, if someone finds this idea interesting enough to implement that'd be great.
The theme of the subclass is Improvised Melee Attacks because they're funny... But terrible. With also a secondary focus on Unarmed.
Here's my current idea in regards to Subclass progression and features:
Level 2:
Reckless Attack: Updated so that it functions with unarmed attacks (Like it SHOULD be doing anyway *Glares at Larian*)
Level 3:
Furious Strikes: Your unarmed attacks deal 1-4 damage. (Scales to 1-6 at level 3 and 1-8 at level 9)
Same effect as Monk's Deft Attacks, so should be a simple copy/paste functionality.
Mad Lib: Your Improvised Weapon Attacks count as unarmed attacks for damage rolls.
This should help with the anemic damage that IWA's currently do, allowing for stats and damage modifiers to add to the damage and make them legitimate weapons.
Ruckus (Action): Unique Rage variant. Provides Expertise on Athletics checks. In addition, rolling a 1 on an Athletics check causes you to reroll your die. Also provides the standard benefits of Rage (+2/3 damage with melee/unarmed/thrown weapons and Advantage on Strength checks and saving throws)
The usual subclass Rage+ with focus on providing assistance to Improvised Weapon Attacks Athletics checks.
Level 5:
Strength of the Smasher: Increase the amount you can lift by 25% and gain the ability to use Improvised Weapon Attacks as a Bonus Action.
Simple boost, to help enable more picking up of enemies (Should allow for regular humanoids to be lifted at 18 STR which you'd likely achieve with your Level 4 Feat). Bonus action attack being a similar bonus to Giants and their damaging Shove.
Level 10:
Collateral Damage: Your improvised weapons take the same damage as your targets.
A massive boost for smashing enemies with other enemies. Normally, being used as an improvised weapon only deals 1d4 damage with no other modifiers. Now you're effectively doubling your damage so long as you can continue to find living enemies to pick up and smash into other enemies.
