Hey everyone,
just wanted to ask if anyone else has experienced this:

I'm currently playing in Honour Mode and tried the classic strategy of shoving Balthazar off the cliff in the Shadowfell using a Giant Barbarian (sneak up while invisible, then shove him down). This used to work just fine in previous patches.

But something weird happened, he did fall off, but just a few seconds later, he suddenly reappeared right next to me as if nothing had happened, and combat started as normal. (He used a Legendary Reaction while falling down and suddenly reappeared right next to me.)

So now I'm wondering:
Was this changed on purpose in a recent patch? Or is this a bug?
This tactic used to be reliable especially with Rogues or Barbarians who could sneak up unseen and end the fight early.

Would really appreciate hearing if others have seen this too, or if Larian confirmed any changes to this interaction. It’s especially frustrating in Honour Mode where every move counts.
I couldnt find anything about this, everyone says its still working but i tried this serveral times and its not possible for me anymore.
Thanks in advance!

Seems intended. It reminds me on the first Imp fight on the Nautilloid. If you shove them into the Abyss they just reappear...

The fish people in the Underdark or the shark people in the city also come back if shoved (into water). IIRC same applies to Myrmidos of the correct element. When this was patched (hotfixed?) waaay back, the change to Myrmidons was mentioned in the Notes, but to the Kuo-toa and/or sharkies was not.

Fish people not being killed when shoved into the water make sense. A dude with 80 pounds of iron, not so much. Check out the opening scene of Saving Private Ryan.

Honestly, being shoved off a floating island in some weird space where gravity is very weak shouldn't kill you, either, from a RP perspective. You should be able to kind of swim, glide towards some island further down and land. Now whether you end up starving to death or dehydrating, well, that's another issue for about a week later, not instantaneously!

In the Shadowfell cutscene, Balthazar is flying. So it makes sense that he can simply fly back onto the prisoner's rock. (Same situation in Cazador fight.)

Sounds like patched to be bit more consistent.
