I have played BG2 around half to a full douzen times. Didnt keep the saves so I dont know the exact number.
Almost always as Sorcerer. It was just so fun to try to find the "perfect" spell list. Which of course doesnt exist[1].
I finished the game twice on other classes - as Fighter/Mage, and as Inquisitor. Both have been fine, too. It was VERY fun to be a highlevel AD&D Paladin and winning literally every saving throw, ever.
[1]: In BG3 it probably DOES exist, but BG2 for example there have been exactly four level 6 spells you would want, but you could only have three (you would get the fourth only much later on level 21+): Improved Haste, True Sight, Protection from Magical Weapons, Mislead. IIRC I would usually get Mislead later despite it being a total OP spell, but the other three have just been even more important.
